You can just book for dinner, but you can also take part in the cookery course. In case your roommates are not interested in the cooking itself, they can always laze around by the pool, or entertain themselves doing other activities.
From the end of April until end September. Since the cooks don't want to steal too much of your valuable holiday time, they modestly suggested two weekly sessions, one on Tuesdays and one on Fridays. Other days can be arranged on request.
You can register your interest upon arrival, but can of course already mention that on your accommodation reservation form. This form can be requested through email@example.com.
Just joining in to eat and drink will set you back by € 30,- to € 40,- for a 3 or 4 course dinner including wine, water and coffee. Children up to 12 years half price. Children up to 3 years free. Taking part in the cookery course costs and extra € 20,- per session.
The cookery course is by Elvo Capelli, a professional chef, specialising in Umbrian and Tuscan cuisine. All his life he has prepared meals for hotels, weddings, parties, village festivals and other culinary events. On request, he also runs cookery courses, but is specifically happy to organise the Landrucci-type events. Elvo is a member of Associazione Cuochi Alta Etruria di Chianciano.
As Elvo doesn't speak English, he is assisted by either Mateo or his wife, Lia. Mateo works at a farm 1 kilometre away from Landrucci. These neighbours are a big farming family, working all together, with each their own specialities. There are many different animals (even a wolf), vegetable garden, grapes and fields. If you want you can walk or cycle there and check it all out. They also run a little catering/butcher/fish shop in Terontola where you can order the finest ingredients or a meal. Mateo is not a qualified chef, but very passionate and a very regular assistant of Elvo.
From 17 September there will be whole week's cookery programme. Central theme: good local produce and especially: much tasting. More information will be available in June.
